Chosen Solution It kept overheating while using wifi in my truck. With the power source it warmed up but was still tolerable. The MacFanControl app helped for a while but then it said I had to have OS-X 10.12 to use it. Which I don’t have. It recently got too hot so I shut it down and the next day it wouldn’t come on at all. Just black screen. The charger also will not show the charging light when I plug that in....

Update (07/30/2017) Plugged it in with the back off, the smoke is coming from burning on the board about 6 inches above the power supply. @knarf1 well sounds like one or a couple of components went up in smoke....
