Chosen Solution Back Story: About a month or two ago I spilled water on my rMBP and I immediately turned it off and let it dry for several days, when I turned it back on to my horror I found that it would not hold a charge. I could turn it on and it would tell me “plugged in, not charging”, but even with that it would turn off after about 5 minutes of usage....
Chosen Solution It appears that the bottom left corner of my screen is cracked which it isn’t and the “crack” is surrounded by black. In the bottom right corner there is also a bit of black. My screen is mainly white with a few color stripes down it. I heard the sounds that the computer would make when it turns on but the screen won’t change. My keyboard seems to work because when I press cap locks and the wifi button they work....
Chosen Solution I know how back in 2015 the Apple App Store removed the iFixit app because they were violating Apples terms and services. I think that we should bring back the iFixit app but instead make it downloadable through iFixit website so its not violating their terms and Apple can’t take it down whenever they feel like it. The iFixit website is great and its definitely gotten really good over time for mobile devices but I think it would be nice to have that platform back again....

Chosen Solution Have Pioneer Elite VSX 52 receiver with surround sound connected to Samsung flat screen TV. Code on screen of receiver always showed TV/SAT when watching TV. Now it shows a flashing UE22 and there is no sound from the system. We use a logitech remote control to operate the system. Hi, According to the User manual a UE22 code indicates a failed software update. (scroll to p.75). If you haven’t tried to update the firmware in the receiver then perhaps the wrong buttons have been operated on the remote control which placed the receiver in the update “mode”....
Chosen Solution I replaced the audio ic on a iPhone 7 and after i put the phone together, the touch doesn’t work. I already tried a known working screen to rule out that problem and it still doesn’t work. I took the logic board out again and only plugged in the battery, charging port and screen and the touch worked fine then. I found that weird so i started to gently press on the logic board and i barely have to press it a tiny bit and the touch stops working immediately....

Chosen Solution Hi. My battery where swelling, so i had to replace it. Inserted the charger and the unit boots, but the battery indicator shows that the battery is not charging. Did a shutdown and kept it off until chargerlight went green. Started up and it seems to be ok. Unplugged the charger, and it looked good. But after a while the screen saver and power management kicks in. Then I woke up the unit, and all seems nice....

Chosen Solution I am re-wiring our house and I found some of the positive insulated 5-10amp cables have a layer of black oxide on all the strands for the entire length of the cable. Does this cause more resistance and if so, is there a danger that the cable might get hotter? Is there also a chance that these oxidised cables will lead to higher energy consumption and higher electricity bills?...
Chosen Solution so basically i have this Iphone 6.Its battery was not working properly so i bought a new battery,it worked fine but after one day I faced this issue while using my phone after a couple of seconds/1 min my phone restarts on its own and doesn’t even charge. Chosen Solution I can no longer play/burn any kind of cd or dvd in my imac. I cant even restore my computer now. I insert the cd/dvd it spins and pushes it back out after a few seconds. I also have an issue when i open Finder under Places i have 2 untitled yellow disk there. This normally indicates a blank disk ready to be burned but there is no disk inside at all....

Chosen Solution iPhone 5s, don’t know the history as a bought a few to do some practice with. Phone had a VCC_MAIN short, C263 cap was replaced as it was pretty much destroyed. It removed the hard short on VCC_MAIN but still suspect something is still shorted as it has a diode reading of .263. After replacing the bad VCC_MAIN cap, the phone tries to boot, the DC power supply seems to show a booting phone....
Chosen Solution My iphone 8 dropped and now most of the screen is covered by ink. The phone is now dead and I’m not sure if I charge it whether or not it will catch on fire. I would play it safe and just repair the screen and then turn it on. @jeantop no, it will not catch on fire. Obviously (I am sure you already know this) you would need to replace the display assembly to repair your phone but you can charge it....
Chosen Solution I replaced the LCD/Digitizer on a broken iPhone SE. I was not able to test it before the repair due to the screen not working. Now the phone reads that the battery is at 1% and it will stay on until the battery drains. I have tried a different battery. Any ideas on what to do next or what the problem might be? You could not test it before the new screen and even a new battery made no difference....

Also under DISHWASHER CIRCUITS > WASH / RINSE it has the wiring schematic for the wash motor circuit that may be worth checking....
Chosen Solution Can you fix a charger Marcello Colino ifixit does not fix devices. Here you can buy parts and get free advice on how to fix things yourself. Check the charger first with a voltmeter to see what the output is. Check your charging cable. Lastly, Nook’s have a weak charging port, you may have to use these guides to get to the charging port. It can be replaced by soldering a new one in place....
Chosen Solution No accidend is happend. My Ipad 3 screen shows just Grey or colored stripes on the screen. I cannot work with y i pad. I used restore and itunes to set my ipad as a new one. But nothing is helping. Grey and colored lines all mean that the screen is physically damaged. Another cause can be physical damage to the LCD connector on the board (such as liquid or pry damage from prior repair attempt)....
