I believe your 30GB model is an iPod Photo. you can look up the model number on sites like this one Also, according to wikipedia, the “regular” 4th gen iPod only came in 20GB and 40GB versions, so your 30GB one must be the “Photo” version...

Chosen Solution LCD screen of my MacBook (early 2008 A1181) is damaged, can I put A1342 LCD screen in MacBook A1181 model? Don’t think so… the 1342 is an LED backlight the ‘08 is is not. Also the Video cards are different. I don’t think the cables will match up. Look at the tear downs for each. On the back of each LCD is a sticker with the manufacturers part numbers....
