Chosen Solution The screen was cracked so I had it repaired. When I got it back the screen looks great and all the buttons work but only half the touch screen works. What do I need to replace now to get it to work. If you had it repaired, you should consider having the repair shop fix it again under warranty otherwise you’ll end up spending your money twice. Chosen Solution Machine hung, then would not restart. Have read similar questions/answers, mine acts differently. On pressing “on” switch, speaker bongs normally. Fans and superdrive whir at first, but caps lock light will not come on when pressing caps lock kee.. After 30 seconds or so, superdrive stops. Small fans still running, but nothing on screen. Tried resetting PMU. No change. Will not eject CD by pressing touchpad when starting. Using 65W power supply, light on plug works normally, and battery is fully charged....

It is possible that your microprocessor is broken, but it is not likely. The device is not POSTing which basically means it’s not turning on. My CPU reaches as much as 105°C when i’m browsing the internet. Have you actually opened up the Mac and verified the fan doesn’t spin or you think it doesn’t work because of the temperature ? If something is plugged into it (or it acts like something is) this can cut off the audio going to either the internal or external speakers. Try a factory reset and see if that works....
