Chosen Solution This question is a bit of a long one, but I felt that context would be necessary, so here we go: I recently took it upon myself to assist my mother with her MacBook Pro, as it would only last for 30 minutes to over an hour on a charge—obviously the aging battery was in need of replacement. iFixit guide on-screen, I assumed it would be an easy fix, besides disassembling the laptop, removing everything down to battery itself, and using the provided adhesive remover in the iFixit battery replacement kit (along with some rubbing alcohol) to remove the strong adhesive binding the battery to the top case assembly to gently pry out the old battery....

Chosen Solution I installed a New logic board with your Ifixit instructions and it works perfectly. However when I go to Hardware Overview the System Serial Number shows “SystemSerialNumb”. My question is how do I place my machine SN in place of this message? To clarify, I am thinking that the serial number shown in hardware overview is the machine sn and not the logic board sn. This is what my other Macs show....

Chosen Solution I purchased a Seagate Thin Laptop SSHD (500 GB) to upgrade my factory hard drive. I have formatted it according to all of the instructions I have found (Mac OS Extended Journaled), GUID Partition Table, when it was installed externally. I cloned the original drive using Carbon Copy Cleaner, swapped them so that the new drive is now internal. It is not recognized at boot, so I boot to the original drive (now in USB enclosure) and the Disk Utility does not even list the SSHD....

Chosen Solution Hello, I have gone over just about everything I can think of. Checked in diode mode pins 1,3,8 and 11 all within spec. Replaced chestnut ic. checked for shorted capacitors and diodes (all good) with no luck. Even checked clock lines thinking long screw problems but they were okay. What am I missing? Another thing I just thought of. When I replaced the chestnut ic the B3 pad broke off....

Chosen Solution After water spil the logicboard is cleaned by ultrasonic cleaner. Keyboard replaced. All is working OK except audio. In the settings no output and no input devices found. Connecting a Bluetooth headset audio is OK Connecting a USB headset audio is OK Connecting Airplay audio is OK only no Speakers and no Mic what could be the next step ?? At this point I would expect the audio logic on the logic board is damaged....

Chosen Solution left working and plugged in while out of town for 5 days, now this when I came home. What happened and how can I fix it? yes did that and also pressed and held button 20 secs then plugged back in and reinserted battery, same blinking. devastated! Have you tried unplugging it and taking out the battery. Then put the battery back in and try starting it again.

Chosen Solution I am needing to replace my power supply in my iMac I think. Can anyone point me to a guide for that and a place to order the part? My situation is this. Over the summer, my comp crashed. Determined it was the hard drive. Replaced it. Up and running again, but since then I have noticed the power supply running extremely hot. Gets up to 93º C under light loads, with fans at full speed....

Chosen Solution Macbook Pro 17" Late 2011 2.4ghz I noticed that I couldn’t watch a video on my Mac so I restarted it. When I restarted it the progress bar only loaded half way. Held down the power button. Rebooted again and it loaded a little more then just a white screen. I tried Safe Mode and it makes the progress bar get up to 75% then just a white screen....

Chosen Solution Basically I had to replace my defective fan, and since you have to completely disassemble the PS4 in order to reach the fan, I also replaced the original processor’s thermal paste (such as the ifixit guide suggests) with a new one I found at a nearby electronics store. The old/original paste was completely dried out, by the way. I didn’t bother moving the thermal pads as they all looked fine to me....

Chosen Solution My device don’t charge. Can u replace all the ports. I’ve tried looking for somewhere to get a part. @turks710 iFixit does not do repairs. Here you can get guides and assistance to do this job yourself. To get to the port use a combination of this guide and the repalcement is similar to this one. You could try and purchase a broken Bose SoundLink II and harvest the port from it....

Chosen Solution On occasion, my display will invert colours, and show a vertical gray bar; I’m usually able to resolve this by manually adjusting the display’s angle until the issue stops. This issue began intermittently around 2 months ago, and has increased in frequency since then. Am I right in saying it is indeed the display cable causing this issue, or the LCD itself?...

Chosen Solution When I turn off the monitor with the power button, it turns off. But when I try to turn it on again with the power button, it doesn’t turn back on. I need to unplug the power from the monitor for it to start again. When I increase the brightness to 75%, the whole screen starts flickering fast. When I go up above 80%, it flickers even faster. When my Mac puts the display to sleep, but I move my mouse to wake it up, the monitor doesn’t wake up, and there is a green light flashing once every 3 seconds on the motherboard, My monitor only turns on when I plug it to the computer for the FIRST time....

Chosen Solution My watch does not turn on. I get wet with water. It only vibrates in the charging base. Can it be the battery or some other component? When I touch the screen it vibrates but it is black. I hit the power button and vibrate. I disarm and only connect the battery to the main board and do the same. Do not even connect the other pins as the main screen....
