Chosen Solution When I attempt to start the computer, I have no boot chime, no movement of the fan, and no display. I hear a momentary attempt to turn on and then nothing. LED’s 1,2 and 3 remain lighted. LED 4 is out. What do you suggest. Replaced the Power Supply and it now works. Not sure why it works with the new PSU when LED lights 1,2 and 3 were lighted....

Chosen Solution I recently got an iPhone 5s which was advertised as not powering on or charging. After opening the phone I discovered the moisture indicators were dark red and hence assume water damage was the issue. I have taken out the logic board and cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol and a soft toothbrush but there was still no signs of life. Chosen Solution The power cord plug socket has become unusable (loosened by use). Is that repairable?? Small portable Bose speaker. Chosen Solution where is the fuse for the power door locks and how is it identified in the fuse diagram? Ted Jellison, disconnect the battery cable (keep it off for about an hour) and pull the IOD (BCM) fuse to reset the system. See if this will fix the door locks, at least for some time. The IOD fuse is on the left side of the fuse box under the hood, it is a 15 AMP fuse....

Chosen Solution I’ve got this PowerBook G4 restoration/upgrade project going but good parts are hard to come by here in New Zealand so I was wondering: can I use parts from the early 2006 MacBook Pro Aluminum? Bottom case is definitely different but pictures posted on iFixit guides suggest that the top case+keyboard are similar - even the keyboard ribbon looks the same - and maybe the display could be interchangeable as well… does anyone ever attempted this sort of ‘transplant’?...

Chosen Solution I’m disconnecting my logic board. I can’t get the dc power cable to disconnect. I can push in the sides but can’t get it to unplug. It hurts my fingers too much. Asked hubby, he can’t get it to unplug either. Is there a tool I can use? Or would I be able to use a towel or potholder to help? Nothing really to grab other than the connector shell....

Chosen Solution so at scool i droped my iphone 4s on the screen didnt crack and no visible damage but the screen was white with lines and it was flickering and i couldnt seee the screen. but the touch response worked so i was able to do my pasword but couldnt see a thing. i was able to see that it worked cause the lines moved when i touched something. any idea or fix that i could do that doesnt involve me replacing the screen because i dont know how and it is very complicated....

First thing I would do on a “no boot” with fan issues is check the RAM - see if there’s an issue with how it’s seated, or potentially a bad module or two....

Chosen Solution This is not afaik the apple logo loop, the phone works normally for a few minutes and then shuts off in the middle of whatever I happen to be doing. About a week after the warranty was up, the microphone stopped working, and I could only use the phone with a headset, but otherwise the phone worked normally until now. The battery reads full. Chosen Solution I left my phone outside in my car by accedent, now it overheated and won’t turn on, what do I do? Sage Jurado, remove your battery and check on it. See if it shows any deformity. It is very unlikely that you damaged the logic board, most likely it is the battery that failed. I’d suggest that you replace the battery and re-evaluate from there. Hope this helps, good luck....
