I pressed the volume up, pwer and home button and a message on custom OS system appeared and then none of the buttons worked. now it turned off and wont turn on again. Chosen Solution I have an iPad Pro 12.9 3rd Gen, I had a cracked screen but the lcd was still all good. I replaced the everything even the lcd but the screen wont turn on. Did i mess something up? Hi @geotechatl The iPad Pro 12.9 has a history of shorting out the connector if the LCD assembly is plugged in while the iPad is on. You can easily check for this type of damage by removing any tape around the connector and looking for failed components (turning black, some smoke)....

Chosen Solution I just bought a new ifixit battery for may macbook and installed it accoring to the ifixit manual. When starting up after the install everything seems ok, but the new battery drains quickly. When using a batterytool (coconut battery) I saw that the design capacity is only 26% (see attached image). Chosen Solution Hi @incognegro918 , You can connect the laptop’s HDD into another computer to retrieve your files. Here’s an example of the various ways to do this. It may be prudent to back up your files this way before trying to fix the laptop as at least this way you have them in case anything goes wrong with the repair and corrupts the HDD for example, unless you remove the HDD that is ;-) Here’s a link to the ifixit Toshiba Satellite C855-S5115 Repair guide, which should be of some help to gain access to the motherboard etc....

You will have to start checking the LED Driver/ PSU board. Remove the back off your set after you unplug it and take a good look at all the boards.
