Chosen Solution Yo, experts, I have 2 machines of the 2009 A1297 series. I ran ASD on both, and both show “Failed” due to Thermal Interface TIM test (test4) . It says “ Check heatsink is properly attached, using product specific theta dh+75% guardband” . That is quite a mouth-full! Moving past the lingo, I am thinking of replacing the thermal paste, but not sure if I can use one or either of the two products I have on hand: namely 1) Arctic MX-2 or/and 2) K5-pro ....

Chosen Solution Sounds like a noise capacitor somewhere on the logic board or the smoothing caps in the power supply is failing. I would first try the power supply. Also you may want to get a good surge suppressor or a UPS so your power supply is not shocked by bad power which can degrade it. You can also try out an external USB Audio Interface to check if the error persists your PCIe Card may not like your motherboard....

Chosen Solution Just replaced the screen on a 6s (I’ve fixed a bunch before). After replacement, screen works fine, how every 1-3 minutes, the phone turns off and restarts. Then, phone continues to work fine, however restarts once again. All flex cables look fine and I tried a hard reset. Any ideas? Try re-installing the original, cracked screen to see if the problem persists. If it does, then you may have damaged something on the logic board....

Chosen Solution I have a variety of symptoms/problems that may or may not be connected to one root cause, help! A while ago, my laptop started only staying on when it was plugged into the adapter. It does not detect that the battery is present. If unplugged while powered on, it will go to (hard drive?) sleep. Chosen Solution When I plug in the power supply to my Dell Inspiron 1420 the green light on the power supply goes off instantly and stays off, unplug the power supply and re-plug and the light comes on green again and repeated serval times with the same results, will not show that it is charging, boots up on battery only. Chosen Solution I recently replaced the top case on a MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015). The original top case had sticky keys and I believe it was non-functional (I was unable to get it power on with that power button). That being said there is no sign of corrosion or liquid damage internally. I’ve replaced the top case, trackpad, USB-C port, and trackpad flex cable, and now the machine powers on....

Chosen Solution My disply is not working it is frozen sometime or unresponsive screen There’s not much you can do beside trying a hard reset, keep pressed together home and power button until you see boot logo and then release. If that doesn’t help, a screen replacement would be the first thing to try.

When I put it on to charge it has to be locked, if I’m on it while its charging the battery percentage will continue to go down even though it says its charging. Tonight, as I was playing with it, the tactile function stopped working, but this time completely and definitively. Chosen Solution How do you stop a touchbar from flashing? Just spoke with Apple support again and she mentioned a step no other support advisor mentioned…reset the NV RAM. To do this, I held the Option, Command, P and R keys while starting the computer. I held the keys for 20 seconds and the computer did another restart, after which I released the keys. This has stopped the flashing for now....
