I just finished replacing the display assembly on an iphone 4 CDMA. I followed the online guide to a “T”. But as I put it back together, i got down to the battery and the back glass wont slide back on. It will if the battery isnt in the phone. But if it is, the back glass panel wont slide properly. Only one side will.
I’ve always had a problem with those. I put the back cover on, just above the rim, over the bottom end of the phone. Then I usually have to muscle it in, then put the screws. It is possible that your battery, or maybe even the connector plate, isn’t sitting flush? Check those things and see if you can’t get it to slide down
