Chosen Solution

Whenever I try to use my laptop without the charger the battery does not keep a charge.

The most common problem is the actual charger, when plugging it in and no lights or notifications pop up on your screen the charger might be the issue. I would just look into buying a new charger if this solves your problem. If that doesn’t work, you might just have a problem in your battery settings. If you hold F2 it should bring you to a configurations window and under that go to your charger configuration. When you look at the charger configuration window set it to standard and your problem should be fixed. @Omar Abas You could try a universal adapter. Just make sure that it has the following specifications and that the plug is the correct type and size to fit the socket in the laptop. Here are the specifications, which should be printed on the adapter: Power 45 W Input voltage 100 VAC–240 VAC Input frequency 50 Hz–60 Hz Input current (maximum) 1.30A Output current (continuous) 2.31A Rated output voltage 19.50 VDC Alternatively you could search online for OEM Adapter Charger DELL INSPIRON 11-3162 19.5V 2.31A, 45W and check if any suppliers have prices that suit you
