When I try to play my favorite movie, Rocky IV, my laptop doesn’t automatically play it.

It sounds like the laptop is not reading DVDs. There are a couple things you can do to fix this issue: There are CD/DVD cleaning tools available. If the disc works in other players but not in the laptop, you can get a cleaning disc for the CD/DVD drive. This disc will attempt to clean the optical laser inside the drive.If number 1 above does not work, you can replace the DVD drive.
