There is no colour only a blueish tinge to the picture?
@evelfritz make sure that you try a different TV as well and try different inputs on your TV. This could be a bad DVD (try others) as well as a bad cable. Try others as well. If none of that works, you want to consider cleaning the laser. For that you buy a commercially available lend cleaning kit. If cleaning etc. does not help you may consider a bad laser assembly.
