Chosen Solution

I am having a similar issue. My mid 2010 macbook pro gets very hot and the fans blast regularly and are very loud. I switched to a solid state drive a couple of months ago and 8gb of ram (otherwise I have a stock machine) and the problem was worse initially, so I had to do a complete re-install of el capitan. I saw that this works on another forum. This seemed to solve the problem for about a month, but now my fans are blasting away again. I’ll periodically go into the CPU in activity monitor and delete certain programs, and that seems to calm the fan down for a couple minutes, but then it starts blazing again. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

The other question was on an iMac and the problems are entirely different. So I switched this to your own question. The first think I would check on this model is the fan vent, Remove the fan and make sure it is clear, Used canned air to blow it out. I’ve seen these vents up to 80% clogged.. Let us know if this works, if not we’ll delve deeper. Also I don’t know the size of your machine.
