Touch ID works and if I double tap on my home button, it will lower the screen. But the home button doesn’t click and I’m unable to return to home using it. So far, I’ve enabled assistive touch and restarted the phone several times. I’m curious as to what the problem can be. I didn’t touch any components of the home button. I did have to detach the battery and reconnect it. Any suggestions or answers would be greatly appreciated!
You could have damaged the touch flex. The one going from the screen to the logic board and only requires a micro tear to produce the problem you are having. You will probably need a replacement screen.
