Hello guys! So I need some urgent help with this little problem. I had set a password for my iPad a while ago, and when I got it again, I couldn’t remember the password at all. As stupid as I am, I tried too many times, and I got the “iPad is disabled, connect to iTunes” screen. I manually installed the firmware for the iPad, and I updated my iPad software through iTunes on my PC. When it was done, I was met with a screen that said “iPad is disabled, try in 60 minutes”. I waited, but then a white screen showed up, and at the bottom, it said “Press Home to Upgrade”. My iPad home button is broken, and AssistiveTouch wouldn’t work either. I tried to connect my iPad to the computer again, but the computer is not recognizing the device. Have I lost all hope of ever fixing my iPad, or is there still something I can do?
If you want to attempt recovering data / information from the iPad you need to get that home button fixed. Otherwise you’ll need to manually install the firmware with a DFU restore which will at least let you re-use the iPad like it was new. You can re-enable assistive touch via 3utools with the enable assistive touch option under accessibility. iTunes also allows you to do this too.
