So back in October for my 14th birthday I paid £70 for a iPhone 5S which just had a cracked screen. When it had a cracked screen it worked fine until I got the screen replaced from a phone repair shop. I had trusted this certain shop because my brother had recently had his grey iPhone 5S screen replaced there and he had no issues whatsoever. When I got my phone back it had a tempered glass screen protector already put on the screen, when this screen protector was removed the phone would tap on things where previous fingerprints were. I’ve had this screen replaced 6 times with 3 different brands and even an Apple OEM display and it is still ghost touching without a screen protector. I read somewhere that this issue could be caused by a defective battery in which my battery sometimes dies on 20-30%. How could I fix my phone?
It’s probably just a bad quality screen, I have this problem all the time. I would say just keep the screen protector on, it protects it anyway, why take it off?
Where all these replacements at the same shop? Was the OEM Apple screen purchased at the Apple Store or another shop. Only Apple stores have real OEM screens. Depending on where all these screens came from, you either have a bad supplier or you have a problem on the logic board (FPC connector or Touch IC).
First off, you couldn’t have possibly gotten an OEM Apple screen unless you got your screen replaced at the genius bar or bought a used OEM screen. Based on this fact, I’m relatively confident that your issue is low-quality replacement screens that have no oleophobic coating. The only solution for having a screen with no oleophobic coating is either replacing it with a higher quality one that does, or using a screen protector (either glass or plastic will work)
