This is a belated answer so hopefully it can be of use to folks who search for and find this question. It is possible that you have a defective replacement Lightning Port. However the first thing to do is to double check if you installed it properly by following this guide. I would also check the condition of the connectors to see if they were damaged in any way. If that all looks good, then consider getting another Port from a reputable vendor to see if that solves the problem.
