Whenever I try to charge my Iphone 6s it will not charge, I recently received a iFixit pro tech tool kit. I am wondering what part I will need to replace to fix it.

The steps to diagnose this issue would be to replace. 1.       Charging cable. 2.       Battery. 3.       Charging dock assembly. If it still doesn’t charge it will most likely be one of your charging IC’s the most common to fail on the 6s is the Tristar IC. Unfortunately you will need more equipment and experience than the ifixit tool kit as microsoldering is required.

Have you tried using a pin and scraping the bottom of the charger port. 90% of charging issues tend to be caused by lint build-up In the base of the charging port. Using a good light you should be able to see all the debris. Try not to scrape at the contact pins in the side, just go right to the bottom of the port, scrape from side to side and try to hook any loose bits out of the port, Compressed air can help you once you have loosened any dirt, etc.

Likely, the problem you are experiencing is caused by a faulty (old) battery. However, it is possible that your charging port is broken. Try charging the phone wirelessly. If the phone cannot be charged through the charging port OR the wireless charging feature, the battery is the most likely culprit. However, if the phone can charge wirelessly, you would need to replace the charging port.
