My Iphone x fell in water and the only damaged thing is my “True Depth Camera” (Face ID) what is the cost to fix it and is it fixable?
Likely no, it’s not repairable, but it depends on what was damaged, since unless you opened the phone to check, I never trust that just because something is working, liquid isn’t on it somewhere. It’s unlikely to be fixable without Apple intervention, since Face ID is a function that is paired to the logic board. So replacement of just the camera or just the parts of Face ID in the display will break that interaction. So Face ID still won’t work even if the hardware is all good since the logic board doesn’t recognize it as “secure”. And Apple doesn’t offer stand alone Face ID replacement, just whole phone replacement. So. Unless the reason your Face ID isn’t working is related to a part of the board which can be replaced/repaired by someone who can do board level repairs, your odds are not good.
