hi! i’m using an Iphone7 that used to be my older sisters. The maximum battery capacity says only 50% because this phone has been used since like 2016. I’m pretty sure this problem is due to the horrible battery life, but i’m just wondering if anyone has any temporary fixes until i’m able to get a new battery for it. basically, it won’t stay on unless it’s plugged in. it’ll be charging until it’s at 100% and then when i unplug it it’ll power off or die almost immediately. then it’ll power back on and still say 100% and then power off again. and it’ll keep doing that multiple times until it’ll power back on at 10% and i have to plug it in immediately after and the only time i can use it is when it’s charging back to 100% after it powers back on at 10%. if i unplug it at any battery percentage imbetween it’ll power off or die too. i’ve had this problem for awhile but it would usually only power off once or twice before it was back to normal and i could use it again. a couple weeks ago, it was doing the exact same thing it’s doing now for like an hour and a half before it stopped and then it was completely fine for like 2 weeks and now it’s doing it again. i’m trying to get a new battery for it soon, but until then does anyone have any temporary fixes or suggestions?
This sounds like a pretty textbook battery issue, there’s no good solution that’s practical for this without replacing the battery. I’ve heard of all sorts of solutions like leaving it in the freezer but I’ve seen several people attempt these methods with no results beyond what I’d expect for a standard deviations of diagnostics when working on electronics. Luckily the battery is the easiest and one of the cheapest components to replace and that should completely fix your issues.
