Linda Shimizu start off by unplugging your washer and leave it unplugged for a while. Then plug it back in and check if it reset. The door not opening could be an issue related to the door lock assembly Let us know what you hear/see Update (03/30/2019) Linda Shimizu okay so the door locked properly because your washer thought it was going to start. The grinding noise make actually come from your motor or your drive. Let me see if I can find out something more specific to your washer. It appears that this is a Canadian model number. If you have had the washer since new, there should be a tech sheet on the left hand side behind the front access panel.
Let us know if you find it. Update (03/30/2019) See if you can access the diagnostic mode. Also check the control lock. Press OPTIONS and SELECT at the same time until the Control (Control Lock) indicator is lighted. To unlock the controls, press OPTIONS and SELECT again. Remove the back from your washer to see if the belt is still on
