my netbook keyboard stopped working well.it mixes the different keys up,some of which are absent.how do i fix it? i’ve tried rebooting it and the drivers are working well so i can’t tell what went wrong.
It may be a software fault - you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard driver or doing a factory reset to make sure its not another application causing the problem. If this fails it is probably a hardware fault (e.g. the keyboard itself) You could try keyboard cleaning products / switch cleaner. If that doesn’t work then the keyboard will need replaced and if a new keyboard doesn’t fix it it may be a motherboard problem - and a new motherboard would properly cost more than the computer is worth.
hi had a client with a Sony Vaio with similar problem she said it was dropped as high as her knee and suddenly some keys stopped working and other key where pressed simultaneously ex. 3 and f3. Plugged in an external keyboard and all work fine, opened the laptop and nothing out of place. So pretty easy dilemma : -undo all the keys clean all the contacts and retry it after a few hours of work or -replace with a new keyboard at the cost of 39.99 + labour. guess what i did
