Can it be repaired? Can I repair it? Does it just need the charging port replaced? NONE of the power cords I’ve tried (including my husbands Fire HD) will work!

It does sound like a bad charge port. It normally requires soldering to replace the USB port on these. If you are not comfortable doing so, it maybe better to just buy a new one, seeing as the 7" Fire tablets are only around $35 USD when on sale.
