My kindle was working fine before I put it in the car for the drive home from the Christmas holidays. It was a very cold day (20F), the kindle was on the floor in the back seat. When I got home, 2 hours later, the kindle doesn’t work at all. I’ve tried charging it. Nothing seems to help.

It could just be that the LCD is frozen. 20F isn’t that cold, plus it wouldn’t be that temperature in the car but if the reader was exposed to it for a long time, that could be the problem. However, being on the floor, it may have got bounced around and that, combined with the cold, may have caused some damage. Let it thaw slowly and see how it responds.
