Mac Pro 2008 When I turn the laptop on ,I hear it start whirl but then it starts to beep. Three beeps then a pause then three beeps, this goes on until you hold the power button down for several seconds. The screen stays black the whole time, some one please help!!
This is a RAM error. The Mac Pro is very picky about it RAM. Usually it will not work correctly with mixed RAM. Please take a look under the Apple in the upper left hand corner to “about this Mac” > more info > Memory and compare what it says with what you have install;ed. If you have not changed the RAM, try reseating it. Also the positions of the RAM are very important. Please physically look at the RAM you have and let me know the the number of each and the size and I will try to help you. P.S. I have one of these 2008 machines so I am familiar with this issue.
