My Macbook Pro does not start up. It is completely dead. The charging light is on, when plugged in. When I press the power button (plugged in) the fan comes on after some time and stays on. The charging light goes from yellow to green (looks normal). I tried SMC reset on the dead machine, no change.
Try plugging in the Mac to an external monitor/Tv to see if you get an image. If you do shine a bright light to the screen to see if you have a dimmed out image. If you hear fans the Mac isn’t dead but first step is to figure out if it’s a screen, backlight or logic board issue.
