So my lenovo is constantly hot and the fans are running full speed, i am wondering if the cooling system needs cleaning or is there any fix to the overheating issue because the laptop recently started getting this hot

Hi @crgunay , Here’s a link to the service manual for your laptop. Scroll to p.42 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove / replace the fan + heatsink assembly, so that the fan and fan vents can be cleaned and the thermal paste covering the CPU can be refreshed.

Hi @Duaa Alherbawi, I think that the model number is Lenovo Ideapad C340 is this correct? If so check that the fan ventilation slots on the back edge of the laptop (I think) are clear from any obstructions. Also check that you can hear the fans operating in the laptop and feel the warm (hot?) air coming out of the vents. If you can’t hear the fans or feel the air then there is a problem with the fans. There are two fans in the laptop. As you have a very new laptop, (I assume that it is less than 12 months old?) contact the Lenovo service section as per the manufacturer’s warranty statement that should have come with the laptop as to what to do to get it repaired under warranty. That’s what warranties are for If it is still under warranty, do not open the laptop yourself to investigate the problem, as this will void the warranty.
