my usb cable is fine n so are my ports but my laptop still is not finding my device
Try other USB ports. Restarting your computer may helps . Make sure your phone is fully charged. Make sure the phone is turned on . Are you connecting through Kies? You might try looking in the disk manager if theres a sd card in the phone it may show up there. Go into your disc manager before plugging in the phone so you know whats there and will recognize whats new and to know what drive letter it is as it will not call it by your phone name only by a appointed drive letter. You may also look for it in the devises and printers in the control panel Hope this helps
