Chosen Solution
So I was using my laptop but shut it down then went to turn it back on later and it started fine but the screen remained black. I tried leaving my battery out over night and putting it back it but it didn’t work and I plugged it into my TV but still my laptop screen stayed black. I really need to fix this as I have important school work on it, thanks!
Jess, you did not tell us which Toshiba you have. If an external monitor works, but not your LCD then you have a problem with your backlight. This could be either the LCD panel, the LCD wiring or the backlight circuitry.
