I just got back from a vacation and now my 2016 LG 70UH6350-UB is turning off every 15 - 20 minutes. Trying to power it back on just leads to the red power light blinking. Unplugging the TV for a few seconds and plugging it back in fixes it for another 15-20 minutes. I’ve already reset the TV with no luck. TV receives video via 1 HDMI from a Sony receiver.
Hi @Jeremy Erickson What you did was a power refresh. By disconnecting the power from the TV and then operating the TV’s Power button for about 60 seconds you are forcing the TV to try and turn on. Of course it can’t do this because there is no power. What does happen is that any residual power that it still in the TV is dissipated by doing this and this resets any data that may have been corrupted due to power fluctuations etc which may prevent normal operation back to its factory default condition. It’s a standard first option to try with most electronics these days, TV’s, computers, mobile phones etc. The hard part with phones and laptop computers is that the power source i.e. batteries, are no longer as easily accessible as they once were. it may be prudent to disconnect the TV from the power if leaving it unused for a length of time as you may not know of any power problems i.e. surges, outages etc that might have occurred, unless you have a clock radio that will flash indicating the power has been interrupted but if it has a backup battery then even then you mightn’t know. Connecting the power to the TV via a quality surge protector might also be a good move.
