My Mac Mini, running 10.8.5 won’t now charge my android phone. When connected to a usb port a Warning box appears which reads: Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled. “To prevent damaging your computer, the USB device drawing too much power has been disabled. Other devices may have also been disabled. When you disconnect the device drawing too much power, your other USB devices will be enabled again.” Even though there are no other usb devices connected but if I plug in a usb memory stick, it is recognised and can be written to and read.

You may need a powered USB hub to plug your phone into as the power limits of the Mac Mini USB ports may not offer enough power here. This is true for the older models.
