My Mac Book won’t take a charge. Do I need to replace the battery? Please help Thanks Update (10/29/2018) sorry i forgot to mention. The Mac wont actually turn on. How do i find what the problem is ?

Open the bottom case and unplug the battery from the logic board, it should work even without it. If it starts normally it might be a faulty battery with internal shorts and it’s worth trying to replace it. If it doesn’t double check you have a working magsafe, if you have a green light magsafe is ok and it might be a logic board issue. Anything unusual in your Mac’s life ?
