My MacBook Air 2011 model shuts down after few seconds. Then I have to wait for an hour or two to get it started again, then again the same thing happens! I tried all the PRAM, hold power button tips. When I remove the battery and turn it on with charger hooked, only the fan starts and not the display. Please help! As I have my exams coming ahead.
Has it ever been liquid damaged? EDIT: I’d try to use the laptop with battery disconnected. If issue is solved, replace battery. IF this issue still happens both with battery connected and disconnected, then I suspect a few things, all of them at board level: I/O board (daughter board)Charging chip damagedSMC or some lines related to SMC damagedSome critical lines that are fed by G3H are dropping due to failing components possibly from corrosion. Of course there are other possibilities but I’d rule out the above first. You’ll need proper micro-soldering tools and replacement chips and enough skill to perform all of the above except if it’s the I/O which is an easy to reach part that can be easily replaced.
