Every other actions like opening safari and others takes significantly more time than earlier (startup about 5min, safari startup almost 1min), the colored spinning circle is appearing all the time and i did format because of these problems so everything has been deleted i thought if i do format the problem will be solved as well a new software update has been done but the problem is still there. I’m studying and the lap top is really important i can’t do any thing =( i’m very upset please help me resolve this problem. Thanks a lot! more information about my mac: version 10.9.5 Processor 2.9 CHz intel core i7 Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDRF if you need any information you can ask =)

Do you have an external drive to boot your system up with? This could be an HD or thumb drive. What I think is the issue here is your disk maybe encountering errors but to tell you’ll need to boot off a different disk so you can check it with Apples Disk Utility from the booting drive. Try first to fix the permissions and then the disk its self. You may need to run it a few times to clear out all of the errors. If after 8 or so tries the errors don’t clear the drive maybe to far gone. As to what to replace it with getting an SSD of equal size will be expensive. While right now you appear not to be using that much (a little more than 20 GB). Are you planing on using more storage with files you haven’t put back? I like SSHD units (hybrid HD) as you gain the benefit of the SSD performance but also get the deep storage of a HD. But before we travel down that road lets see if your HD is recoverable. Lastly, being a newer system your HD could be covered under an extended warranty but you’ll need to bring it into an Apple Store to find out.

Hi Just put a good SSD (crucial MX , samsung Pro) in there-with a “clean” system and it will be night and day_ as far as speed is concerned. The latest OSes of Apple seem to be made for flash drives as there are a lot of login items//daemons/// remember windows opened before shut down, etc. You’ ve got enough ram and the processor is more than ok to handle regular and irregular tasks.
