My MacBook was on a table playing some music from Spotiy when It’s screen suddenly became black. Initially I thought it has gone to sleep but when I tried to turn it back on by pressing some keys and using the trackpad it didn’t wake up. I the keyboard backlight was on and the music was still playing and stopping when I pressed the space bar. So I searched online and found a test of backlight. I turned on my phone’s flashlight and pointed it to the translucent Apple logo and I could see central part of the screen light up slightly. it is a backlight problem. Backlight is probably not getting power. But why? There’s no Apple service centres nearby and I don’t have Apple Care+. If anyone can help I’ll be thankful for him/her. Thanks in advance.
Usually these faults are caused by liquid damage which may require micro-soldering to fix. If it is a no backlight fault there should still be a distinguishable image but very dim around where the apple logo is on the screen. If you can’t see it try holding the power button for about 5-10 seconds to force turn it off and turn it on again and repeat the flashlight test. If no apple logo / sign in / loading bar is shown then there is a no-image fault. Probably not the screen but something to do with the display circuitry on the logic board.
