My Panasonic Viera TC- P55VT30 switched off suddenly this morning. There is no red power light on and manual switching on is also not working. There is power to that outlet for other devices. Any advice?
kaptgoofy try to unplug everything plugged into your TV. Then unplug the TV. While unplugged hold the power button do for ~30-45sec. After that plug the TV in and see if you get any sign of life. If still nothing you may have to think about opening the back to take a look around. Basic hand tools and a simple multimeter are the only things you would need for now. Let me know what you get and in the meantime I’ll try and check for the right schematics etc. This series of Panasonics have an issues with the screws on the SC board coming loose which will cause a short between the SC board and ground. The noise you’ve heard could have been a “buzzing” sound coming from the board. You’ll have to remove the back off your TV and let us know what you see.
