Chosen Solution
This started around a month ago when randomly my usb charger connected to my mac was being unrecognised. The thing is, the actual charger does work-it works when I plug them into a normal plug socket. Also if I plug this usb charger in a different computer downstairs with my phone it also works. If you are wondering if it is the drivers it is not as I have only switched over from mac to this new pc which I built only yesterday so it cant be that-also I have checked and it also says they are 100% up to date.
The fix: type of usb cable, when I plugged different cables into my computer they were different but the same brand/type of cable but then when I switched to a completely different one it worked like a charm.
