Hi, You need to replace your PRAM battery and then do a PRAM reset. Ralph http://www.ifixit.com/Mac-Parts/PowerBoo… PowerBook G4 Aluminum 15" 1-1.5 GHz PRAM Battery Replacement http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
Thanks for the prompt reply, will give it a go! Stephen
hi. i have a similar problem. laptop was working fine, then froze. i force restarted holding the power button and it made the chime but never came back on. i havent been able to start it since. if left alone it will drain the battery very fast. the part above the keyboard feels warm even though the machine isnt on. if i plug it in, it will charge the battery and the light will be amber, but if i press the power button the light will switch to green for a few seconds, then back to amber. does this sound like i need a new pram battery or is it something else? thanks
