I indeed did spill some coffee on my keyboard a couple months ago. The computer still works fine and all keyboard buttons seem to function without any issue at all (aside from the led backlight not being uniform in brightness anymore). My problem is the power button. I can boot up my computer most of the time with no problem, but the dialogue asking me if I’m sure I wanna shut down my computer randomly and repeatedly pops up and if I don’t hit cancel, it’ll just shut off. When I boot it up, if I don’t hold down a key or something to let the boot process finish it’ll shut down suddenly as well at the Apple logo screen.
You’ll need to try cleaning the spillage if you can. I’ll warn you I’ve not had great success when the liquid has sat for so long stewing. It might be easier replacing the top case assembly.
