Last month I cleaned out my ps3 (Got it off eBay 4years ago. Wasn’t as dirty as I thought) and changed the cpu paste, now it’s shutting off by its self, complete power cut, no beep, have to unplug it or press the power button, red light turns on, hit button white light turn on, goes green for a second, then cuts again, if I keep at unplugging it, or wait a while it it will turn on normally and play. The only thing I can think of that’s wrong is that I may have used too much cpu paste, please help me out, thanks guys.
I got it working, I put too much cpu paste and the cpu was over heating.
Hi! Does the LED change for a second yellow? If yes, your system should have a re-ball.. A reflow can be tried too (way easier) but most of the time temporary..
It can be the fans. You said it looked like it had very low power so if so then can you turn it back on and then if it shuts off or looks like can you check the fan?
Got it! I think its because of Probably you have a problem with the Power Supply. I don’t now the model of your PS3 but there is one solution for this with PS APS-250. I think that APS-270 is the same but I am not sure. If the model of your PS is the same you can try. First disassemble the PS. In the up-middle side you can see two potentiometers. Mark them and turn them left around 5 degrees.pictures can be found here:https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/1168838503… Here’s how to Unplug the power supply: PlayStation 3 Slim Power Supply Replacement
