This has been the problem for a long time and I’ve delayed fixing it for 2 years now. So it’s probably the backlight does this mean I have to change the screen, or change the MOBO?
Hi @vpkami , With the device turned on try shining a torch at an angle close to the screen and see if you can detect any images at all. They will be very faint if they are there so trying this in a darkened room may help. If you can see images then as you say there is a backlight problem. Check if the backlight fuse is OK. Here’s the Ifixit PSP 2000 Repair guide that may help with opening the device etc. If you can’t see any images then as a DIY repair it may be cheaper to replace the LCD screen first and see if that resolves the problem rather than first replacing the motherboard. Just search for PSP 2004 LCD screen to get results for suppliers that suit you best.
