My phone was working fine, and charging fine, but when i woke up in the morning and went to check my phone the battery was at 35%. I unplugged my phone, and then plugged it back in. I waited a couple minutes and then when i checked it, it still wasn’t charging. I took my battery out and put it back in after 15 min, and tried again… still nothing. So i took the battery out again and took the battery out of my cousins phone (Same exact phone,) and it still wouldn’t charge. I tried plugging his phone in with my battery and it worked fine. So, what should i do? Also if i do need a repair, around how much would it cost? Thanks everyone!
If you can use someone elses charger and have your phone charge the problem is that your charger is done but before you throw it out try a different cable from the charger to the phone . Cables will often break inside and quit working and still look fine on the outside. but if a cable changer brings no joy you will need to replace the charger
Had the same problem. I read all the suggestions and this is how I fixed my Samsung s5. I dipped a toothpick in WD-40 and used it to clean all the connections in the phone’s charge port. I rolled the toothpick around inside the port and I could see the dirt on the tip of the toothpick. I used 2 toothpicks and used both ends of each one to collect all the dirt in the port (my charge port cover fell off months ago so it was dirty). This problem was also causing the phone to turn back on after I turned it off - so I fixed 2 problems with this fix.
Nah mate you know how sometimes the charger port mucks up and you need to hold the charger in a certain position for your phone to charge. It’s sorta like that except you’ll rarely ever find that certain position again. I have the same problem. You could try replace the charger port. Because I think that’s the problem.
Try as a first fix to clean the bottom of the phone uUSB socket with a needle. If compacted fuzz is present there its hard to see because it’s compacted. relevant youtube video Best of luck
hello everyone , i can see how this problem come to many people after a time . first check the charger cable and power outlet restart the phone and plug the charger for 5 min and wait for more steps try out (SPAM REMOVED)see if this works . this worked for me .
DO not use any kind of oils It will damage the courts when you connect it back to the charger and wd 40 attracts dust .the pourt will get more dirty
Try this, pull out charger from phone slot and blow into it sharply twice now insert charger back into phone again then press the on switch once, wait 5 min and press on switch again, it should now show it’s started charging….well this worked for me.
It seems like the problem is with your phone and not the battery. You may try using a compress air cannister (can air) use to clean computer keyboard and blow air into the charging port of your phone and the USB port on your charger cable. You might want to check with your cell phone provider for repair suggestions.
Changing charge port is feasible but as others say the S3 problem is usually bad battery. A dead giveaway, if you take it out and meter it instead of typical 3.5 to 3.7V you will see 3.05V, if so then no amount of reconditioning will work. Although some folks suggested connecting it in parallel with a smaller battery then running the combination down to 2.6V and recharging, a half dozen times as sometimes this works, in my experience it does not help. The “theory” behind this fix is that the negative electrode has got into a resistive state due to overcharging and getting it past this point reverses the damage however its normally irreversible.
hi how can u get ride of spam on Samsung galaxy j1
I also having same charging problem with my SamSung A9Pro. The whole night charging only can be charged 50- 67%. i suspected , the problem causes that after i had upgraded firmware. Anyone can give suggestion.
I’ve had the same problem for a while. Cheapest way to fix this is to order a wireless charging pad and adapter for your phone. install the thin adapter below the back cover touching the terminals in there. put the cover back on and put it on the charging pad. Your back in business.

Hi, Use alcohol, such as mentholated spirits. It evaporates and cleans the port as well. Cheers Jamie
