So i changed the keyboard on my mac from qwerty to spanish. Everything seemed to have gone splendid until i put it back together and turned it on. This is what i get the computer turns on the light on the lower right of my mac turns on(the one on the side of the computer that pulses when mac is closed)but none of the keyboard leds work and my screen is black. I then put on my old keyboard and nothing. i think i blew it but i don’t see how. if someone can tell me what i could have done wrong and how to fix, I would appreciate it. or maybe tell me where i can get the answers or get this fixed..
When you removed the topcase did you remove the power supply and battery? the topcase replacement is pretty straight forward and I don’t see how you would fry your board. Do u hear the start up chime when u boot? If u see the light that means there’s life there, do you hear the optical drive on start up? I would take the topcase back off and make sure that the data cable that goes from the display to the logic board is properly seated, This connector is tricky and you have to make sure you hear the “click” when you re-attach, that’s if you took it off in the first place, cause it’s not necessary for topcase replacement. Step 16 of this guide shows which cable I’m referring to: MacBook Core Duo Right Clutch Hinge Replacement
Hi! If Majestys suggestion doesn’t work, I would reseat the ram, and try to reset the pmu immediately afterward.
Connect an external monitor to the MacBook and tell us what happens.
The very same thing happens to me and when I connect the external monitor everything is there, I could just work with the external monitor but you know that’s not practical at all, haha!, I could really use your help guys. Of course i would be interested on traying the suggested solution here but I would like some guide on how to reset the RAM and the PMU. Thanks.
