My laptop is starting up but i can see the screen but not enough to see the setting to try and fix it has any one any idea on how to reset them to fractory setting from startup
Plug it in to an external monitor to both test the graphics chip and see if you have display problems.
You want to try resetting the PRAM. Hold command, option p and r while booting the system. You want to wait till it restarts twice. So the third time you hear the initial chime let go and let it boot up. As long it is just the video setting and not the backlight being out this should help.
