It happened on the day my hd disk crashed. The screen is covered by pink colour, it blocks the icons on the normal screen. Only a small portion at the top edge of the screen is displaying normal. Sometimes it even flick.
Hi @treasureino , Try connecting an external monitor to the laptop and check what its’ display is like when the notebook display is “pink”. If you have a TV that has HDMI inputs then it can be used as an external monitor as long as you have a HDMI cable with the appropriate connectors at each end to connect it between the laptop and the TV. Don’t forget to press the action key (4th one along at the top of the keyboard with the “rectangle” symbol on it - not sure if you have to press Fn as well i.e. both keys together) to toggle the display between the laptop screen, the external monitor and both screens. If the external monitor also shows a “pink” display you have a problem with the motherboard or the GPU. If the external monitor display is OK then you have a problem with either the LVDS cable (or connections ) between the motherboard and the screen or the screen itself. Here’s a link to the service manual for the laptop. Scroll to p.62 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the display assembly. This will gain access to the cable so that you can check the connections or if they are OK if you have to replace the display assembly. Also on p.62 you’ll find the part number for the various displays available for the model, (it should also be stamped on the back of the display in the laptop). If you search online using the appropriate part number only in the search box of your browser, you’ll get results for suppliers of the part. Hopefully this is of some help.
