Chosen Solution

When my laptop (Asus UX360UAK) went to sleep, the touchpad used to stop working, but restarting the laptop would work. But today, it’s just stopped working completely. There’s no touchpad settings anywhere on my laptop, not in device manager or anywhere else and Asus Smart Gesture installation always fails. There’s a ‘disable touchpad’ option (fn + f9), but it doesn’t respond at all, so I assume that there’s no touchpad so disable. USB mouse is working just fine and so is the fingerprint reader. Please help, thank you :)

Hi, Download and install the latest Asus ATK package and Smart Gesture drivers. Be sure to install the ATK Package first before the Smart Gesture drivers. Do not be tempted to update any other drivers at this stage. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”

Like kshjalmar, BIOS Settings are perhaps the right Solution: After 2 Hotfixes from Windows on my brand New AsusVivoBook Flip (14zoll 8GB /256Gb) my Touchpad gave up - No reaction! Even no Installed Device recognizeable…!!! So if there is no Touchpad at all.. So I tried the “BIOS Check” (Hold F2 while PC is starting); then under Advanced Settings the “Internal pointing device” was enabled.((!! Yes it was enabled!) So i switched the parameter to “disabled” and back to “enabled” and Saved BIOS with “Save and Exit” WONDER:

Touchpad was running as good as before the Hotfixes…

Take a look into BIOS. There is an option for the touch pad (pointing device) to turn it on/off. I do not remember the exact terms, but after some years with a dead touch pad, I googled on “how to enter BIOS in ASUS XXXX , Windows 10 “. I started with downloading new drivers, so I do not know if it is necessary to do that. Anyway, for some reason, after an update in Windows 10, my touch pad was set on “off”, deactivated. Now it works again.

Hi, Radka Go to asus website and download Pointing Device drivers https://www.asus.com/sg/Laptops/ASUS-Zen… try reinstalling and see if it helps.

Try to install the drivers for touchpad You can try slimdriver’s driver downloader to get it However if that does not work then its probably hardware

This asus laptop is a clickpad button, so it supports the asus smart gesture, and you should uninstall and reinstall the asus smart gesture. Here is an article you can follow to fix it: https://windows10skill.com/asus-smart-ge… Wish this article can help you.

I had just bought a new laptop for college, literally maybe a month ago i bought my asus and the touchpad stopped working. Downloading the atk package and the small gestures didn’t seem to help at first but a little bit after i downloaded them i tried resetting my computer AGAIN and tadaaaaa my touchpad is back. So glad this worked!

Hello. I just brought 2 of the ASUS X441BA for my niece and nephew and experienced the same issues. Uninstalling and reinstalling the ATK and Smart Gesture (There was no smart gesture to uninstall) helped. I was skeptical at first because i actually tries the drives from ASUS but they didn’t work and I didn’t want to pay geek squad all the money to look at it. Also installing Smart Gesture was a little tricky you have to do them in order Only thing i will add. Once you finish the install, then you need to go back to settings and enable the touchpad. I thought it didn’t work until i decided to search the mouse settings and say the touchpad setting sitting right below.
