My refrigerator top is 38 degrees F. My bottom freezer is not freezing. It is 35 degrees F. Kenmore made by LG I think. What is the problem?
Roger, without your model number I’m gonna guess that you have a duel evaporator, one in the freezer and one in fresh food. If you look on the back wall and ceiling Inside freezer do you have ice or frost built up? If no ice/frost I’d say the 3way valve sometimes called a spider valve isn’t operating properly. It moves the gas from one evaporate to the other. Opening one and closing one about every 15 min. The spider valve is part of the sealed system. Only a trained and certified refrigeration technician can do this repair. Depending on when you bought it and who manufactured it, it might still have a warranty on parts. Unless you’re a certified refrigeration technician you can’t do this repair. You might want to check your warranty before scheduling service. If you bought it from sears, they will have all the information and are able to do the warranty repairs as well.
