I have an iPhone 7 with a broken cable. I think the cable is for the home button as the button is not working. The broken cable is the smaller cable connecting to the screen half, to the right of the battery cable (see pic). Do I need to replace the entire digitizer (or what part includes this cable) , or is there some other smaller component that I could replace? I dont want to take everything apart until I have the replacement part. I assume that whatever part I replace shouldnt interfere with that the fingerprint button swap and that the button is usable even though the cable is broken going to the main board. Thanks

Your home button will be fine. You will need to purchase another screen as those flex cables are not interchangeable.
