So I have this ps4 CUH-1115a that I’ve almost totally fixed, works great EXCEPT for the optical drive(chip size BDP-025). It doesn’t accept discs, it’s almost like the optical drive is OFF when the rest of the console works fine. Eject button doesn’t work or make sounds like the power button does. The rollers are in place, I cleaned it out, the disc shield is down, the switches on the laser board aren’t stuck, the plastic tray is moving freely as it should, I took it apart and put it back together, there’s absolutely no visible reason whatsoever why it’s not working. The console doesn’t give me any sort of indication saying that there’s something wrong with it. I’m thinking it’s maybe the laser deck, but if that’s not it, then I’m totally out of ideas. Suggestions?

Hey Brendan, I think maybe one of the chips might be fried or the power could be not reaching it. If ur skilled or it’s power: Check the connections in the ribbon cables and ensure the locking tabs are sealed. If ur skilled then u can replace the chips If ur not skilled in microsoldering: Unfortunately your SOL out of luck there’s not much i can do maybe someone else can help. IMPORTANT NOTICE: From Sunday Aus to Friday AUS, i will be unavailable as i am camping then.
