Hi, I just baught a 3GS 32Gb Iphone and it’s already unlocked but not jailbroken ( no cydia installed ), model number is MC133B and it’s also Old boot. I was wondering if i jailbreak my iphone will it be locked again? and how can i check if it is factory unlocked. Note that the IOS is 4.3.5 and BB 05.16.02. that’s why i’m worried about jailbreaking it coz if it’s locked i will be stuck in this unlockable baseband and i’ll have to upgrade to BB 6.15 and loose my GPS which i don’t want to. Any help?! Thank you.
MaEsTrO, if you are running 4.3.5, there is no untethered JB for that firmware. Download TinyUmbrella and use that to restore to 4.3.3 and preserve your baseband. Use Redsn0w to JB 4.3.3.
man..he said no cydia..means no shsh..mean u cant have ur last or recent shsh to dwngrade or upgrade..i too have same situation..where i don hav cydia bt phone is unlocked..my brother bought in australia n m using it over here in india..bt can i jailbreak it now without spoiling anything..its updated to ios 5.1 with bb 05.16.05..nobody had ans to thid till now
NO it will not get locked again if you jailbreak your unlocked Iphone 3GS. But If you have unlocked your Iphone 3GS temporally, and if you upgrade or update your version it will get locked again. So my suggest is get your Iphone 3GS unlocked permanently. Use remote unlocking service to do so. It is a permanent unlocking method. Jail breaking is not necessary in this method of unlocking Iphones. Get this service from the site Mobile-Unlocker.com ,and unlock it using unlocking institutions which is given in the site itself.
Its unlocked and the sim holds the info so if you jailbreak it nothing will happen.
